THANK YOU for this awesome giveaway! I would like to win the gift card because I would like to give it away as a gift.

One of my good friends recently relocated to North Carolina with her family. Before they relocated, her husband was all but promised a job but once they got there the job didn't happen.

Also, my friend has recently started on a quest to get healthier--recently becoming a vegetarian. Her son loves to cook with and for her. I would love for them to have a chance to buy organic, locally grown fruits and produce for their newly acquired vegan lifestyle without putting a strain on their budget for the week. This is a beautiful, hardworking family and they deserve all the blessings they can get. Thank you for consideration!

why do i want the gift card?

well i'm in hsv and SO SO excited that we are getting an earth fare. now i don't have to drive 2 hrs to nashville every couple of months to go to trader joes.

dh and i are about to have our 1st baby in may (a couple of weeks after the opening of the store), and this store will help us eat/live better, and be a 1 stop place for us to get all of our groceries. i drive passed the location every day on my way to work, and look at what progress is being made. :)

I also would like to give mine away as a gift. My parents have been really struggling the last few years. They have had 2 failed businesses which has basically sucked up all of their retirement savings. Now they are 62 years old, Mom spent 18 months unemployed and just got a job a few months ago. The only kicker is that she is part-time which means no benefits. Dad is a vet so he has health care via the VA, but not Mom. And now that Congress passed the health care mandate Mom is required to purhcase insurance or pay a fine ... neither of which she can afford. So a $50 gift card would go a little way to helping them out with some groceries, but also help Mom say healthy so she doesn't have to worry about anything major going wrong.

I'd love to have this card, not just to try and new store (which I LOVE to do) but because I've been on a search for a place where I can find quality, organic foods. My husband and I are trying to make changes to have a healthier lifestyle, but sometimes it's hard to sift through aisles of junk to find the right kind of products we SHOULD be buying.

I wish I had a more altruistic motive for wanting the gift card, but alas, I don't. I would just love to have it so that I could give Earth Fare a try!

I live in Huntsville and am excited Earth Fare is opening here! I would love the gift card to allieviate our grocery budget--my husband is a pastor so our grocery budget is pretty small to nothing. :) $50 is what I spend on groceries in a month for our family!

If I won the gift card I would use it for my daughter. My 4 year old has recently decided to become a vegetarian. I am struggling to find recipes that fit our budget, her ever changing taste, her allergy restrictions and my time. This would give her an opportunity to go in a store and choose just about what she wanted without me worry about an allergic reation.
I would love to try a new grocery store that had the healthiness of the customer at heart. If my child wants to be a vegetarian that is one thing that I would love to help her accomplish.

I am a college student, we all know the struggles of eating healthy in college. I lost my job recently and I'm paying my own way through school. It's been really tough finding a new job. So really I've been living off peanut butter and jelly, eggs, and bananas. My ultimate passion is creating and testing new wonderful combinations of food. It is what makes me shine and what makes me happy. I haven't been able to cook or bake in months due to my financial problems and I would love to win this card and make myself and friends some delicious meals and desserts!

The question probed and penetrated; could I cram more than 32 ounces of Butter Pecan ice cream and Dr. Pepper into my 32-ounce tumbler. Despite my determination, I couldn't defy physics, and ended up with a bent spoon. Three years later, thanks to my pastor instituting a Daniel Fast, I began a vegetarian diet, and two years later I went vegan.

I researched and learned about food, nutrition, health, diseases and how they interact. I lived in Akron, Ohio, where there were many stores nearby that sold organics and healthy food.

In 2009 I retired from the Akron, Ohio Fire Department, and relocated to Dadeville, Alabama. My income was slashed in half, and stores that sold organics nearby decreased. The EarthFare gift card would bless me to purchase $50.00 worth of food for free, and just as important place me in a shopping environment that is unique. Earth Fare refuses to sell foods tainted by high fructose corn syrup, trans-fat, artificial colors, synthetic growth hormones, and unnatural sweeteners. Furthermore, Earth Fare invests in the communities where their stores are located. Every Thursday is Family Night. Adults pay for their dinners, and up to six children eat free. Earth Fare intends to bring out the healthy person that resides in all of us.

For these reasons I'd like to win the gift card from Earth Fare.

You know what's really weird? When your whole body shakes uncontrollably for no apparent reason. That's what's been going on with me since last June - my muscles jerk and convulse as if I'm having a seizure except I'm fully aware of my surroundings. Sometimes it only lasts for 15 minutes, but it's gone for as long as 3 hours nonstop. There's also heartburn, nausea, hot flashes, skipped menstrual cycles, and dizziness. After 8 doctors and numerous tests, I'm still a mystery. To try to help myself, I've completely overhauled my lifestyle by exercising and changing my eating habits. Rather than poptarts, Lean Cuisines, and Bird's Eye Voila meals, I now eat organic fruit smoothies, salads, natural sandwiches on Food for Life bread, and lots of dinners from scratch.
In September, the muscle spasms occurred 3-4 times a week. Now they occur about once a month. The other symptoms are less severe as well. So while the doctors haven't officially diagnosed me, I know I'm at least on the way to recovery. However, after so many doctor bills (and the salary of a teacher's aide), the $50 gift card would be a big help in buying the natural, organic foods that I know my body needs.

Thanks for offering the giveaway! EarthFare is my favorite grocery store to shop at :) I especially love their weekly boot patrol challenges since I'm still working on cleaning out my cupboards of unhealthy items.

Cream Cheese Banana Nut Bread - Southern Living

***There seriously aren't very many things that smell better than Banana Nut Bread baking in the oven.   Don't you agree?  This recipe for Cream Cheese Banana Nut Bread from Southern Living magazine was one of the very first recipes that I added to this blog...back in November 2007!  In fact, I came across it when I worked for the magazine as a Marketing Intern.  Back then, I didn't have a photo for every recipe, and the blog post was simply the recipe and nothing else.  Because this is my go-to recipe for Banana Nut Bread (and because it is so amazing!), I thought that it deserved a little more attention.  This is quite honestly some of the best Banana Nut Bread that I've ever had.  An entire 8oz. package of cream cheese is added right to the batter, along with 4 mashed bananas.  The cream cheese adds so much to this recipe, with an incredibly moist texture being the main component.  Plus, the roasted pecans are the perfect ad...

My Favorite Quiche!

***It's not often that a recipe is worthy of re-posting.  I think I've only done that once or twice in the entire time I've written this blog.  However, this is one of those rare occasions.  Back in 2009 when Brad and I went to Europe, we had the most amazing Quiche Lorraine at the incredible Les Deux Magots cafe in Paris.  It was delicious and was served alongside a yummy salad of fresh greens (Quiche Lorraine sur Salade Verte).  Oh, it was heaven on a plate!  It also didn't hurt that we were sitting on the patio of one of the most famous cafes in Paris, after all...haha.  The atmosphere and people-watching in that particular area are hard to beat. I'll never forget the elderly lady that was sitting at the table right next to us (the tables were situated pretty close together).  She was dressed to-the-nines, was all by herself, and was just the quintessential, classy Parisian lady.  I wish more than anything that I had tried to strike up...

Absolutely Sinful Cinnamon Rolls

***Alrighty, here are the cinnamon rolls that I mentioned in my previous post. I put these together on Christmas Eve, and then baked them on Christmas morning. Let me just tell you...there's nothing quite like the smell of yummy cinnamon rolls wafting through the house on Christmas morning...ahhhhh...so wonderful! This is going to be a new tradition for us...fresh, homemade rolls on Christmas. I thought that I might try this recipe, and then maybe try a new one next year...until I found one that I really loved. However, I hit the jackpot on the first try! This is THE recipe that I'll always use. UPDATE:   Since originally writing this post in 2008, I've  made these cinnamon rolls every year for Christmas!  They are a holiday tradition that my family looks forward to all year!  You can see my other posts here, with lots more photos of these sinful cinnamon rolls: CHRISTMAS 2009 CHIRSTMAS 2010 CHRISTMAS 2011 The great thing was that I could prepare them on Chr...
