I'm so excited about pumpkin pies, apples, pears, squash, cranberries, pumpkin spice everything, and hearty bowls of scrumptious SOUP!

What a great giveaway! I love a rich and creamy butternut squash soup with bits of crisp bacon and a drizzle of thinned out yogurt or sour cream as a garnish. Mmm, just thinking about it makes me hungry!

Fantastic giveaway Celeste. Soup is a staple in my house on a cold autumn night. I generally go for cheddar broccoli or lentil soup, but my hubby loves french onion. Thanks for a chance to win a fabulous book!

I love bean with bacon soup or minestrone soup. Either sounds yummy when there is a touch of fall in the air.

I love soup! My favorites for fall are split pea and bean with bacon. I tasted a delicious wild rice soup last year that was to die for -- My sister-in-law bought it at a local restaurant and heated it in the crockpot for a family gathering. Thick, creamy, savory...mmmm! I think I'm going to have to see if it's available this year and buy some.

Mmm, I LOVE soup! I'd say my favorite is a pasta e fagioli or a creamy butternut squash.
My favorite is chili, with a good vegetable soup (tomato based) coming in a close second served with corn muffins. Oh my, I need to go and make this now:)

I love a corn chowder especially if you throw in a little crab!

I always look forward to making my Mom's Veggie Soup. I already have some in the freezer for when it starts getting cool here. I would love a recipe for the Southwestern Corn soup a friend and I had last week at a local tea shop. It was "just" spicy enough...
Ohhh the 26th is my birthday, this would make a fanstastic birthday present! My favorite soups all involve hot melted cheesy goodness. Baked potato soup, cheddar corn chowder, broccoli cheddar, pasta fagioli and a good homemade veggie soup topped with cheese! My favorite non-cheese variety would definitely be my grandmother's chicken soup, without a doubt the best chicken soup in the world.

mmmm....it is a tough choice for me between chicken noodle and cheesy potato soup, but my answer would have to be chicken noodle!

MMMM! Tortilla soup is my fave :)
My husband makes an amazing soup with just veggies, noodles and water. We take the cooked potatoes and yams after and mash them, so we always have a combo deal with dinner. There's nothing like homemade vegetable soup!

There are so many! It's a toss up between chicken noodle, split pea, and tortilla soup. Hoping it cools off here soon (it was 104 today!) so I can start thinking about soup.

I would have to go with either carrot and apple soup or butternut squash soup. Perfect flavors and colors for Fall!!

I LOVE fall and I LOVE soup! Some of my favorite soups to make are of the Mexican variety - there are so many variations that involve black beans, corn, chicken, etc. etc. And the toppings are so much fun! Shredded cheese, sour cream, guac, the list goes on and on...

My favorite is my precious Granny Bert’s recipe for homemade vegetable beef soup which not only warms my soul, but, warms my heart as well. That, along with some of her famous Granny Bert Coleslaw and cornbread is ALL YOU NEED!

I love to get up early [not too early] on Saturday mornings, especially in the fall and winter months, and put on a pot of something to slowly simmer as we watch the Tide Roll. Whether it is soup, stew or chili, it really is nice to sit down on weekend evenings and enjoy a great bowl of food, some bread, football, family and friends.

Well you know I am cheap and quick, so taco soup in the crock pot is what I do! :)

I love to make minestrone and veggie soups and just throw in all the random veggies in my fridge. My husband makes an awesome crab chowder that's also high on my list of faves!

I always look forward to Fall because I love eating soup on a cold day.... even though LA (Lower Alabama) doesn't get as cold as I'd like.
My favorite soup to eat on a cool day is chicken and dumplings (does that count as a soup?) I eat it like a soup, anyway. It spells "comfort" to me.

I love soups year round. Fresh vegetable soups in the summer and richer soups the rest of the year. My favorite soup is a spicy Taco Soup that I make with ground beef, beef broth and picante sauce as the main ingredients. Then there is nothing better than throw-together soups using leftover chicken, turkey, or roast. Quick, easy and delicious!!

Our favorites are chili mac, a very easy dish, and a simple variation on Italian wedding soup. I serve the chili with cornbread, and Italian or a baguette with the Italian wedding soup.

White chicken chili is my favorite. As a matter of fact, we had it for dinner last night and I just had some for lunch today!

I love simple homemade vegetable beef. I use a chuck roast cooked till it fall apart, then add potatoes, carrots, onions, okra, corn and tomatoes. I make a pan of steamy hot, crispy corn bread to go with it. Love at first bite!!!!

My grandma makes a beef-based soup with cabbage and meatballs. Sometimes when I re-make it I throw in some broccoli rabe and pasta. It's just delicious and it always reminds me of childhood.

One of my favorite soups is Chicken Tortilla Soup. I got this recipe years ago from a friend in New Orleans. If was given to her after much pleading to a local chef there. It has shredded chicken and yummy veggies and a thick base to the soup and of course a little kick to it. Topped with shredded cheese. This has become a family favorite!!

Cream Cheese Banana Nut Bread - Southern Living

***There seriously aren't very many things that smell better than Banana Nut Bread baking in the oven.   Don't you agree?  This recipe for Cream Cheese Banana Nut Bread from Southern Living magazine was one of the very first recipes that I added to this blog...back in November 2007!  In fact, I came across it when I worked for the magazine as a Marketing Intern.  Back then, I didn't have a photo for every recipe, and the blog post was simply the recipe and nothing else.  Because this is my go-to recipe for Banana Nut Bread (and because it is so amazing!), I thought that it deserved a little more attention.  This is quite honestly some of the best Banana Nut Bread that I've ever had.  An entire 8oz. package of cream cheese is added right to the batter, along with 4 mashed bananas.  The cream cheese adds so much to this recipe, with an incredibly moist texture being the main component.  Plus, the roasted pecans are the perfect ad...

My Favorite Quiche!

***It's not often that a recipe is worthy of re-posting.  I think I've only done that once or twice in the entire time I've written this blog.  However, this is one of those rare occasions.  Back in 2009 when Brad and I went to Europe, we had the most amazing Quiche Lorraine at the incredible Les Deux Magots cafe in Paris.  It was delicious and was served alongside a yummy salad of fresh greens (Quiche Lorraine sur Salade Verte).  Oh, it was heaven on a plate!  It also didn't hurt that we were sitting on the patio of one of the most famous cafes in Paris, after all...haha.  The atmosphere and people-watching in that particular area are hard to beat. I'll never forget the elderly lady that was sitting at the table right next to us (the tables were situated pretty close together).  She was dressed to-the-nines, was all by herself, and was just the quintessential, classy Parisian lady.  I wish more than anything that I had tried to strike up...

Absolutely Sinful Cinnamon Rolls

***Alrighty, here are the cinnamon rolls that I mentioned in my previous post. I put these together on Christmas Eve, and then baked them on Christmas morning. Let me just tell you...there's nothing quite like the smell of yummy cinnamon rolls wafting through the house on Christmas morning...ahhhhh...so wonderful! This is going to be a new tradition for us...fresh, homemade rolls on Christmas. I thought that I might try this recipe, and then maybe try a new one next year...until I found one that I really loved. However, I hit the jackpot on the first try! This is THE recipe that I'll always use. UPDATE:   Since originally writing this post in 2008, I've  made these cinnamon rolls every year for Christmas!  They are a holiday tradition that my family looks forward to all year!  You can see my other posts here, with lots more photos of these sinful cinnamon rolls: CHRISTMAS 2009 CHIRSTMAS 2010 CHRISTMAS 2011 The great thing was that I could prepare them on Chr...
