The heav...Hi Anonymous! Thanks for your question. The heavy cream and butter take the place of oil in this particular recipe. Once you've prepared the chocolate for the fountain, adding a little extra oil would be okay, if it still seems too thick. The chocolate in this fountain did actually start hardening up after being turned on for a while, which isn't out of the ordinary.
